Ken Block: Monster & DG Shoes


Sometimes diferent worlds work hand in hand to make a well marketing job. This is the case between Monster (energy drink), DC Shoes and firstly Subaru and then with Ford.

It´s an excellent advertising campaign where our adrenaline soars to the top. The first one was filmed in the port of Los Angeles with the Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Simply amazing.




The next video was filmed in Autodrome de Linas-Montlhèry, situated in the south or Paris, France and is as spectacular as the previous one. The car is the Ford Fiesta WRC.

Ferrari & Shell


The following advert is a collaboration between two great, Shell and Ferrari. We can say Shell use the Ferrari´s F1 history to make an awesome ad.

The mixture between some amazing Ferraris going fast in different cities is very exciting. Rome, New York, Rio de Janeiro or Monaco are some of the cities where the advert has been made.

I´m sure every fans of Cavallino´s brand have enjoyed this master piece.

Porsche, Urban Legend. Fact or Fiction?


Beautiful advert of Porsche where we can see several models roaring in the night. I really like Porsche, obviusly. The history, spirit and pasion of this cars is contagious.

In my view here Porsche has wanted to get open, be different, we built not only cars, we build feelings, passion. And how can we resume everything?. Simply with "wow" expression.

We find in order the Cayenne GTS, Carrera, Cayman, Boxster, GT2 and finally the expectacular RS Spyder. Enjoy it!!!

Remind me Vol.1


I want to open this section where I will put some old good adverts. The next advert is an example of total exageration. Everybody can imagine it´s completely unreal, but BMW wants to show us the M5 is not a toy.

Certainly, just after to see the advert, I think that this car is too much for me. But, who doesn´t want a car as powerful as a turbine?. For that reason you need a M5, "Fastest saloon car on the planet"

Audi A1: Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona


It is known football world is a delicious showcase for many car brands. In this case Audi, which is the official sponsor of Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona, has created his own competition between both teams. 

The new A1 has been decorated with the colours and shields from the two most powerful teams in Spain. 

Sincerelly, I think that using mass sports is a good form to show your product and Audi was one of the first to do it and nowadays sponsors teams like Manchester United from England, AC Milan from Italy or Bayern Munich from Germany. Below the article we can see football players Sergio Ramos (left) and Iker Casillas (right) next to the A1-Real Madrid.

Volkswagen: The force


Humor and originality have been combined to create this extraordinary marketing campaign. The first time I saw this advert, I thought just after finish: "has really been a Volkswagen ad? But this brand isn´t serious?". Yes, they are serious and magnificent in their image.

For me the key is the mix between a child and Darth Vader, maybe the most famous character of Star Wars. Never in my life would imagine put together an inocent child with the dark side of the force and make an advert. It´s really funny.

Special reference to body  language of "Darth Vader kid" because looks worked and the final I think it´s the final everybody wants.

Speaking about the kind of marketing, we can see a big diference with, for example, the previous Chevrolet Corvette advert. Here Volkswagen wants to steal us a smile, because everybody nows the Passat, one of the most sucessful models from the German brand, and they don´t have the necessity to make announcement as agressive as Chevrolet, also because the cars are not in the same category.

"Chevy" and the authentic american feeling!


I´m going to be honest with you, the Corvette have never liked me. Until now. Yeah, it´s true, I´m weak. This advert (you can see bellow the post) has changed my mind. I could say that this advert is nearly perfect for me firstly because before to watch it, I didn´t like the product and now I see it with other eyes; and secondly because...what an amazing ad!! don´t you think?

My feelings when I see it, are that my basic instints want to leave, in fact one part makes me scream, exactly in the first appearance of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The advert transports us to the American word, the place where people wear Jeans, drink Coca-Cola and drive exciting supersports cars.

Well, speaking seriously, I wanted to show you one example of, I think we can call it, impulsive advert. It´s really atractive and caught your attention immediately. I also have to mention one think that make better car adverts in my opinion, it´s simply the sound. A beautiful sound, in case the car has it, is a powerful weapon that unfortunately I don´t usually see in adverts.


Finally, in one sentence: I love it.

What do you want in a car advert?


If I ask you what car brand comes to your head when you see this picture, I´m sure you´ll answer BMW. This is only one example about an eficient advert. You see an image, and quickly some ideas appears in your brain.

In fact, in the automotive world we can consider marketing from the adverts on TV to the size of the tires, throught the car´s name. Everithing is  very important, and everithing is thoroughly studied. Maybe an advert like this is not our favourite or inclusive, if you let me to say, everyone can think "I´m sure I could make a better advert". But the reality is that I only need to show you one image lost on internet and you´ll be thinking I want.

So the question is "Is it necesary to show the car´s features on TV to achieve good sales of the product?". Of course, like you can imagine, the answer is NO. The reason is simple, just marketing. Everyone is conditioned.

But, I have to tell you something. As a car lover, when I watch a car advert on TV, I want to see the car, hear the sound and feel the adrenaline I could feel if I´ll drive that car. Some of this things are difficult to show if you want to sell a Kia Picanto, for example, but I have seen one that makes me feel good, very good. I´ll show you in the next post...
